To the more than 62 million social security beneficiaries there will be a 2.8% increase in monthly payments beginning January 2019. Supplemental social security income for more than 8 million (some of whom receive both) will begin on Dec. 31. This is the largest increase since 2012, the increase last year was 2.0%, and in the last decade there have been three years with zero increase. Read more here.
