On July 29, 2016, the Housing Opportunity through Modernization Act of 2016 (HOTMA) was signed into law. With the signing of the final rule published on February 14, 2023, HOTMA means big changes in the industry for most programs: new definitions, inclusions, exclusions, policies, practices, and forms. Join our Senior Trainer, Ronnette Smith, as she walks you through all the changes and explains how the funding or assistance programs are affected. The goal of HOTMA is to streamline procedures, align program requirements across HUD, reduce administrative burdens, and ultimately, make it easier to qualify families so they can be or stay housed. So, let's get ready as all provisions for Multifamily Housing programs will become effective on January 1, 2024.
