Utility Allowance Specialist (Analyst)

Full-time. Regular hours.  Hybrid workplace available, must live in St. Louis.  Salary commensurate with experience, bonus eligible. Full benefits + 401k matching.

This analyst position is responsible for research of utility data and performing necessary interpretation of rates, tariffs, consumption, taxes, levies, and other related information into specific data sets or formats.  The Utility Allowance Specialist is analytical and proficient using MS Excel and other resources that manipulate data via tables and units.  


Assistant Manager - Utility Analysis Department

The Assistant Manager of the Utility Analysis Department provides operational support, quality monitoring of work product, and assist with Associate development and supervision.  Affordable housing experience is preferrable, but not required.  The Assistant Manager has a proven track record of customer service and understands the importance of utilizing efficiency reports in order to prioritze first-in, first-out production. See more about Zeffert & Associates and the UA Division to learn more about the work product.


Trainer (Affordable Housing Compliance)

Full-time. Regular hours.  Hybrid workplace available.  Salary commensurate with experience, bonus eligible. Full benefits + 401k matching.

The Trainer is responsible for delivering live and virtual training classes to clients. Class locations and topics are strategically developed under the general direction of the Director of Training. The Trainer works to deliver the highest quality learning with the best possible experience for a population of students with a diverse range of backgrounds and talents. The Trainer may contribute to content creation, as assigned. Travel is required up to 75% in some cases, with a target of 50%.  At least two years of LIHTC experience is strongly favorable.

  • Housing and Urban Development programs
  • Rural Development housing programs
  • Fair Housing compliance

Multifamily Property Inspector [Full-time]

If you enjoy travel, getting out from behind a desk, enjoy seeing projects come to life, and have a keen attention to detail, then being an Inspector might be your next career.  Complete initial training is available for those without specific experience coming into the job and continuing education is always provided.  Many skills are easily transferrable into this job such as, property maintenance, construction-related trades, and even having building hobbies.  The Inspector is on a team that reviews blueprints and walks the corresponding properties to verify that all details of construction are in accordance with building codes, health and safety responsibilities, and Fair Housing regulations.


Multifamily Property Inspector [Part-time]

This new position is St. Louis based, no travel required, and is part-time.  An opportunity for conversion to full-time may be available in the future.  Salary commensurate with experience, bonus and PTO eligible (additional benefits, including matching 401k are offered to full-time Associates).

If you enjoy detail-oriented work, such as analysis of building systems and making small projects come to life in big ways, then being an Inspector might be your next career.  This part-time position is perfectly suited for someone with the desire to commit between 20- and 30 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility built-in so that once you are up and running, you are able to arrange your work week hours with your manager in a way that works for everyone.  Initial training is available for those without specific experience coming into the job and continuing education is always provided.  Many skills are easily transferrable into this job such as, property maintenance, construction-related trades, and even building hobbies.  The Inspector is on a team that reviews blueprints, makes cost analyses, and supports the inspection needs of properties, under the direction of the Manager.


Compliance Specialist

Full-time. Regular hours.  Hybrid workplace available.  Salary commensurate with experience, bonus eligibile. Full benefits + 401k matching.

This position is an expert auditor for resident files to determine move-in eligibility according to respective funding restrictions such as LIHTC, HUD, RD, and HOME.  Most commonly, audits are conducted electronically via a secured web-based portal.  Some Compliance Specialists travel to conduct audits on premises at the client's location.  Training and continuing education are provided.

Zeffert & Associates provides all full time, eligible Associates with a comprehensive and very competitive benefits package.  Medical, vision, and dental insurance options begin on the first full month of employment.  Three weeks of paid time off start accruing on day one.  Retirement plans (401k) are offered (and encouraged) to all Associates and feature employer matching.  Telecommuting arrangements are available for most Associates, including up to 100% options.  There are optional elections available as well that may be chosen by any Associate.  Part time employees are eligible for some benefits, too.  All benefits and eligibility requirements are reviewed at least annually and are subject to change.  On top of these benefits, maintaining a fun, high-spirited work environmental is considered essential.  Holidays, Pep Rallies, and other events throughout the year are a staple.
